Completely demountable, it is assembled without any screws or nails: two supports, a crossbar, and two cleats, with the tabletop fitting onto two tenons.

The thick tabletop, with its peripheral frame, features oak panels in compartments, held together by visible wooden pegs. The two supports, shaped like a curved baluster, rest on glides with cabriole ends. They are joined by a high crossbar with through tenons, secured by two cleats. Hollow assembly marks indicate the pairing of the pieces.

Excellent condition. The structure is sound and very stable, the joints are tight. The oak has a warm and even patina, with slight natural shrinkage of the wood between the panels and the tabletop frame, normal for this type of construction. Likely French work, first half of the 20th century.
