A pair of three-light wall sconces in the Louis XV style, made in the 20th century, probably in the first half. The wrought iron frame has a naturally oxidized golden patina and is composed of C- and S-shaped uprights and scrolling volutes that create an openwork, "caged" silhouette in the Rococo style. Each arm is sheathed with small faceted glass beads attached to the metal wire. The oval sconces are made of patinated sheet metal. The rosettes are made of pressed glass and festoons of faceted glass beads on a chain with links, some in a slightly pink or mauve hue. The cut crystal drops include faceted spindles, scalloped leaf-shaped plaques, and a large pear-shaped finial. Dark purple glass drops add a touch of color. Each sconce has three lights, with molded glass bobeches with scalloped edges and candle holders decorated with faux wax drips. The wiring was redone during a later restoration.
Dimensions (per sconc): Height 60 cm, Width 43 cm, Depth 25 cm.
Condition: Good overall condition. The two sconces are identical. No markings or signatures. Made in the style of Italian beaded crystal.
