An exquisite representation of the Virgin Mary, made of molded material, probably plaster, and datable to the early 20th century. Based on its formal and technical characteristics, its origin could be placed in Spain. Its understated and elegant polychromy is particularly noteworthy, in which the flesh tones acquire a delicate ivory hue, evocative of purity and spirituality, in stark contrast to the dark mantle that envelops the figure and the background that frames it. The hair also features gilded details, as does the halo, adding luminosity to the whole and reinforcing its sacred character.

This piece is quite heavy.
