True to her signature "Archaeology of Memory" approach, Dumont constructs a composition where verticality suggests the immutable order of a library, while the thick, vibrant material evokes the sedimentation of thought.
Crafted with a palette knife in her Normandy studio, the canvas showcases an exceptional richness of texture. Generous impastos create a sculptural relief that captures the light, revealing layers of superimposed pigments like strata of time and hidden narratives. The palette—a subtle dialogue between deep blues, earthy ochres, and luminous whites—bestows the work with a presence that is both serene and monumental.
More than a simple abstraction, Inner Axis is an invitation to contemplation. It is an architecture of silence, a space where the viewer is invited to decipher the whispers of the material itself. This piece is ideal for a contemporary interior seeking a "statement piece," capable of anchoring a room through its graphic strength and poetic depth.
