**Description:**

Bring classic American diner style home with this set of four antique soda fountain stools made by the Chicago Hardware Foundry Company of North Chicago, Illinois, a leading maker of soda fountain and diner furniture in the early-to-mid 20th century.

Each stool has a heavy cast iron pedestal base and tapered column, finished in glossy black enamel. The round seats have been reupholstered in a contemporary grey-and-cream woven fabric with a radiating dot pattern, a nice mix of vintage form and modern style.

The provenance is clear:
- The original cloth "Do Not Remove" law tag is still attached under the seat, naming Chicago Hardware Foundry Co., 25th and Commonwealth Ave, North Chicago, Illinois. It cites state statutes from 1923 to 1928, which suggests the stools date to around the late 1920s or 1930s.
- The cast seat frame is stamped with the maker's name and "N. Chicago Ill."

The stools are solid, sturdy, and ready to use at a kitchen island, home bar, counter, or game room.
