Pair of carved and gilded wooden … Read more Pair of large gilded wooden wall corbels - Louis XVI style, late 19th century. Pair of carved and gilded wooden wall corbels, with carved tops framed by a raised frieze of vegetal inspiration. Vertical supports decorated with garlands of roses and other flowers in high relief, resting on curved arms. Backs with embedded metal hardware for suspension. European work, probably French or Italian, in the Louis XVI style, datable to the late 19th century, around 1880–1900. In very good condition. Shows wear and darkening typical of age. Old holes for wall mounting are visible on the back. No structural fractures. Dimensions of each corbel: 35.5 x 48 x 30 cm. See less
