Vase with Daisies. Author: Branca. Signature: “Branca”. Date: 2005. Descriptive title: Vase with Daisies. Country/School: probable Portuguese or Brazilian school; origin not confirmed. Technique: oil on canvas. Painting dimensions: 24.5 × 33.5 cm. Dimensions with frame: 34 × 43 cm. Orientation: horizontal. Style - Realism. Still life depicting a clay vase with an abundant branch of white daisies. The vessel is placed on a light surface, accompanied by some flowers and stems arranged horizontally in the foreground. The vase presents a gradation of yellow, ochre, orange, and brown, with a lighter central area suggesting the reflection of light on the ceramic. The daisies are represented by white petals, with discreet bluish touches and centers in yellow, orange, and brown. The branch forms a broad and balanced floral mass, developing mainly in the upper half of the composition. The background is constructed with smooth transitions between olive green, beige, ochre, and reddish-brown, without additional elements that distract from the arrangement. The execution is decorative and naturalistic, although it presents a simplification of forms and an intuitive perspective close to naïve painting. The luminous palette and the contrast between the white flowers and the warm background give the work a cheerful and domestic character. Signature and date - In the lower right corner there is the inscription: “Branca” - “2005”. Petrol-green wooden frame with golden effects and signs of patina, complemented by a wide inner frame in a creamy-white tone. It presents small scratches, abrasions, dirt, and occasional flaws in the finish, mainly in the lower right inner region. State of conservation: The work is in good general condition: stable canvas; well-preserved pictorial layer;
No visible tears, perforations, or significant losses; possible surface dirt; frame with scratches and small flaws in the finish.
