Elegant set of two carving knives, consisting of a carving knife and a two-pronged fork, probably of North American production and datable to the 20th century. Both pieces have sterling silver (925/1000) handles, profusely decorated in relief according to a Baroque/Rococo revivalist taste, with voluminous scrolls, vegetal elements, acanthus leaves and terminals of marked sculptural expression. The decoration extends over practically the entire surface of the handles, giving the set a particularly rich presence. The knife has a long, slightly curved stainless steel blade with a metal crossguard. The fork has two long tines designed to hold the piece of meat during cutting, an auxiliary mechanism near the base and a protective guard. "STERLING" markings are found, corresponding to the use of 925/1000 sterling silver in the handles. The cutting and piercing components are stainless steel. Shows signs of use consistent with its age.
