Original oil painting on canvas, signed in the lower left corner. The most likely reading of the signature is "Kay Tuohy," although the artist's full identity is not documented. The work depicts a sunset seascape, observed from a dune area. The foreground is filled with coastal vegetation and extensive grasses, while several seagulls fly over the calm sea. In the background, the sun approaches the horizon and reflects its light on the water's surface. Executed in a soft palette of blues, pinks, lilacs, and pearly tones, the composition conveys a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The painting combines delicate passages in the sky and sea with thick applications of paint and raised brushstrokes in the vegetation and terrain, giving texture and depth to the landscape. The luminosity, the interest in atmospheric effects, and the free brushstroke allow the work to be classified within the Impressionist style, within the decorative painting of the second half of the 20th century. Presented in a dark wood frame with a marbled finish and gilded inner trim. The painting is in good overall visual condition, without visible tears or significant structural damage. The frame shows scratches, wear, and minor signs of use. On the back, signs of aging, occasional stains on the canvas, and traces of the old paper covering are observed.
