In the foreground, the male peacock has intense blue plumage and a long tail in shades of green, yellow and brown, ornamented with the characteristic ocelli. In front of him is a second bird, probably a female, with predominantly blue-gray plumage. The birds occupy the lower center of the composition and are surrounded by dense vegetation. An illuminated path curves from the right, visually leading into the interior of the forest. The succession of trees, sinuous trunks, and overlapping canopies creates depth, while the spaces of yellow light between the vegetation suggest a warm late afternoon atmosphere. The composition follows a figurative and decorative language, with realistic elements treated through free brushstrokes.
