Decorative glass or vide-poche in clear crystal from the prestigious French manufacturer Baccarat, Ginko model. It has an elongated shape inspired by a ginkgo leaf, with thick walls, pointed ends and large faceted surfaces that produce strong light reflections. The model identification is supported by a virtually identical example cataloged as a "Ginkgo crystal bowl", 22 cm wide, by an Italian auction house. The piece does not have notches suitable for holding cigarettes, so it should be cataloged as a decorative glass or vide-poche, and not as an ashtray. It retains the original gold "Baccarat" label and the circular "Baccarat France" mark etched in acid on the base. Manufacturer: Baccarat. Model: Ginko. Designer: unidentified; possibly an in-house creation of Baccarat. Origin: France. Likely period: late 20th century, approximately 1970–1990. Style: modern/modernist. Material: clear crystal. Number of pieces: 1. Dimensions: 8 × 22 × 13 cm. Condition: never used or displayed, from old stock and stored in a warehouse for several decades. Excellent overall condition. Retains the original label and small protective supports on the base. See less
