Brown, depicting a quiet cottage landscape framed by golden autumn trees. Reflective water stretches across the foreground, while a winding path, small figure, and distant blue hills bring depth and gentle movement to the composition.

Textured foliage and expressive brushwork contrast with softly painted sky and water. Ochre, olive green, earthy brown, and muted blue create a warm, atmospheric palette, complemented by a substantial, wide gilt-finished wooden frame.

Signed at lower left. The reverse retains a David Field Fine Prints and Picture Frames label from 51 University Place, New York.

Designer Notes

At 42 inches wide, this landscape offers an inviting focal point above an antique console, library chest, or mantel. Its autumnal palette pairs beautifully with walnut and mahogany, aged brass, patterned textiles, and blue-and-white porcelain. Particularly suited to English country, traditional, and collected cottage interiors.
