A distinctive vintage Chinese tray table featuring a removable rectangular serving tray resting on an elegant lacquered wood base. Finished in a deep reddish-brown lacquer, the stand is accented with subtle gilt detailing along its gracefully curved legs.
The removable tray features woven rattan or bamboo construction with hand-painted Chinese calligraphy across the surface. Its apron is especially attractive, combining woven detailing with a red-and-gold geometric Greek-key motif that gives the piece a wonderfully decorative Asian Modern / Chinoiserie presence.
The tray lifts completely from the base, allowing the piece to function as both an occasional table and serving tray. Beautiful beside a lounge chair, sofa, bar area, or incorporated into an eclectic interior.
The underside retains additional hand-painted characters and an old paper inventory or collection label, adding to its vintage character and history.

There are scattered losses and rubbing to the lacquer and gilt decoration, wear to the woven surfaces, and localized breaks/losses to the woven material along portions of the tray perimeter. The underside shows age-related surface wear and separation at some joints. Please review photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description. Structurally, the table presents nicely and retains a wonderfully aged appearance. Our inventory features a curated selection of vintage furnishings and decorative pieces, each with its own character, history, and age-related imperfections. As vintage items, condition will naturally vary, and signs of previous use—including minor wear, marks, finish variations, or other imperfections—may be present. These characteristics are part of the individuality and history of each piece. Photographs are provided as an important visual reference for condition, and we encourage buyers to review all images carefully. We believe the beauty of vintage lies not only in its design, but also in the character acquired through a previous life. A single image has been digitally staged to showcase potential placement and styling. The remaining photographs provide the most accurate representation of the piece’s condition, finish, and overall character. less
