The monumental piece of … Read more An exceptional Renaissance chest of drawers made of solid oak wood, dating from the 17th century. The monumental piece of furniture stands out for its rich hand-carved decoration and distinctive architectural division of the front side - typical Flemish Renaissance work. The double doors are decorated with large arched fields, profiled moldings and circular targets. The individual parts of the front are separated by pilasters topped with sculpted female figures. The upper part is formed by a wide cornice with a deeply carved ornamental frieze and mascarons in the form of lion heads. The carving decoration also continues on the side walls of the chest of drawers. Under the top plate there is one large drawer, the front of which is integrated into the decorated frieze. The interior space behind the double doors is equipped with shelves and provides ample storage space. The historical metal locking mechanism with a key has also been preserved. The chest of drawers rests on distinctive ball feet and, thanks to its size, dark oak patina and exceptionally rich design, it looks very representative. It is suitable for a castle or historical interior, gallery, library, study or spacious entrance hall. This is original Renaissance furniture from the 17th century, not a later historicizing copy.
