The model is distinguished by the soft, organic lines of its oval tabletop and substantial rounded legs.

The most distinctive feature is Skovby’s patented synchronous extension system. When the two halves of the tabletop are pulled apart, the concealed extension leaf rises from inside the table and unfolds into position, increasing the length from 135 to 185 cm. There is no need to store a separate extension leaf, as the entire mechanism is integrated beneath the tabletop. In Skovby catalogues, the #70 was presented as a compact four-person dining table that can be extended to accommodate six.

The table is finished in black, with the natural texture of the wood still visible. Rounded tabletop edges and broad, sculpted legs give it an organic yet restrained appearance characteristic of Danish design.

The original label reading “Skovby – Excellent Dining Rooms – Patented” is preserved underneath the tabletop, confirming the manufacturer and the patented extension mechanism.
