This exceptional round table was designed and produced by Lothar Klute in 1982, dating from the early period of his career.

The table is characterized by its striking combination of a sculptural cast-glass tabletop and an archaic forged iron base. The unique cast glass features characteristic streaks, glass threads and subtle inclusions, creating an organic and highly individual surface. Each element within the glass contributes to its distinctive appearance.

The raw, expressive character of the hand-forged iron forms a powerful contrast to the transparency and fluidity of the glass. The result is a remarkable synthesis of two highly specialized crafts — glassmaking and forged ironwork — brought together in a distinctly sculptural piece of furniture.

The combination of exceptional materials, unusual craftsmanship and Klute’s distinctive aesthetic makes this table a particularly compelling example of his early work.

The table is in perfect condition.
