The table was originally purchased together with a Turri sofa set and its design, materials and decorative character correspond to the luxury historicising production of this brand from the beginning of the 21st century. The distinctive base is made of solid wood and richly decorated with plastically carved plant motifs. The individual supports have the form of stylised stems topped with buds and flowers. The surface finish combines light toning of the wood with gilded and finely coloured details that highlight the carving work. The top is made of exceptionally strong and heavy glass, which underlines the luxurious character of the table and at the same time allows the elaborate base to stand out. The structure is complemented by a lower glass shelf that provides practical storage space. The design corresponds to the older decorative work of the Turri company, which in this period worked with solid wood, hand carving, gilded surfaces and glass plates. Later production of the brand gradually shifted to a significantly more sober and modern design. A very high-quality and solidly crafted piece suitable for a representative salon, luxury living room, hotel interior or historic residence.
