painter, draftsman, graphic artist, art teacher.

1955-60 studied art education at the university of greifswald (with herbert wegehaupt).

1960-65 art teacher in wurzbach and gera.

1965-70 studied art at the berlin-weißensee school of art (with fritz dähn, kurt robbel, günther brendel, arno mohr).

1970-73 freelance artist in berlin and eisenhüttenstadt.

1973-80 assistant at the berlin-weißensee school of art.

1980-88 lecturer at the berlin-weißensee school of art.

in 1982/83 and 1987/88, he participated in the major art exhibitions of the gdr in dresden.

1987 study visit to göhren (rügen).

1988 appointed professor, 1999 professor emeritus.

his students include frank gottsmann, michael hegewald, michael kutzner, felix müller, roland nicolaus, and thomas j. Richter.

from 1999 onward, numerous trips throughout europe, to egypt, mexico, tunisia, bali, and india.

the artist lives and works in berlin.
due to an eye condition, the artist has had only about ten percent vision in recent years, but he has not given up painting.

dietrich noßky primarily paints landscapes, portraits, figurative scenes, and still lifes in an expressively realistic style. In art history, he is considered one of the "young wild ones" of the gdr.
