a timeless italian design classic, a vintage eclisse table lamp, designed by the renowned italian architect and designer vico magistretti for artemide in 1965.

this iconic lamp is distinguished by its simple yet ingenious spherical form. The white lacquered metal body houses a rotating inner shade, allowing the user to adjust the light from fully diffused to partially or completely directed. This innovative mechanism transforms the lamp from a functional lighting object into a sculptural piece with a playful, almost astronomical character.

the name eclisse, meaning “eclipse” in italian, refers to the way the rotating inner shade can gradually obscure the light source, creating different levels of illumination and shadow.

a celebrated example of italian mid-century modern design, the eclisse combines functionality, technical ingenuity, and elegant simplicity. Its compact scale makes it particularly versatile as a bedside lamp, desk lamp, or decorative accent on a console or shelf.

designed in 1965, the eclisse has become one of artemide’s most recognizable designs and remains remarkably contemporary more than half a century later.

a superb collectible example of italian modernist lighting, perfect for both design collectors and interiors seeking an iconic statement piece.
