we can easily imagine this elegant piece displayed on the counter of a jewelry or eyewear boutique, but who are we to stop you from bringing it into your home? we are certain it would be equally captivating in a residential setting. This tabletop mirror dates to the 1950s, yet its elaborate design evokes the decorative arts of the 19th century.

crafted from solid cast brass, it features a wonderfully sinuous and animated silhouette enriched with finely cast decorative details, including foliate motifs, small pinecones, scrolling volutes, and elegant arabesques. Particularly beautiful is the oval mirror frame, delicately embellished with a series of small leaves that lend the piece an especially refined and graceful character. The mirror can be tilted to the desired angle and secured by tightening the small decorative pinecones positioned on either side of the frame, making it both functional and visually distinctive.

the piece has been cleaned and partially polished using a specialized brass product, taking care not to remove its original aged patina. The reverse is covered with a plastic panel that is not original to the period and was likely replaced sometime during the 1970s. The mirror shows normal signs of age and oxidation consistent with its vintage character.
