Large carved solid wood trumeau mirror, likely walnut and oak, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The frame features classical architecture with a cornice of superimposed moldings and a frieze adorned with medallion rosettes alternating with diabolo-shaped geometric motifs. The side panels are composed of fluted pilasters flanked by turned balusters in the shape of urns on dentil bases, characteristic of the French Neo-Renaissance style. The upper corners are marked with diamond-point panels.
The period glass is beveled at the edges. It has a diagonal crack in its lower right corner as well as micro-pitting of the silvering due to the mirror's natural aging—elements attesting to its age and authenticity. The finish is a warm brown tinted wax or varnish that highlights the carvings.
In good overall condition considering its age, the structure is solid, and the piece remains both decorative and functional.
Dimensions: 150 cm high × 96 cm wide × 8 cm deep. Weight: approximately 50 kg.
