The top section pulls out as one piece. Its lipped teak lid makes a full-width writing surface, and lifting the hinged lid turns it into a dressing table. Under the lid is a mirror held by four chrome screw caps, with a tray below divided by pale timber partitions on a pale grey-green base.

There are three full-width drawers below, with dovetail joints at the front. Each drawer front has two carved recessed handles, and they're staggered: the left one sits low and the right one sits high. That gives the whole front a relaxed, slightly off-beat rhythm. In the upper section, two sliding doors with oval finger pulls run on a track. They can be moved across three compartments fitted with shelves. A long open shelf with a raised lip runs the full width beneath them. The side panels sweep down in a scooped curve from the top to the writing level, and the top has raised end caps. The case stands on round, tapered legs. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
