A set of four dining chairs with curved teak-veneered plywood backrests. Each back is cut from a sheet with strong figure, and the grain flames up through the centre. The backrests are fixed to the back posts with brass slotted screws, two on each side.
The frames are slim and lightly built. The back posts are faceted where they rise to meet the backrest, and the square-section legs taper towards the floor. Stretchers run on all four sides and brace the frame below the seat rails. The seats have been newly upholstered in black, which sets off the warm tone of the teak. with their low, open backs, the chairs keep a light presence around a table.
Each chair has a "G" impressed into the lower edge of the backrest. The maker has not been identified.
