Gomme, known as the 'helicopter' for its unusual base. At each end, four shaped limbs radiate from a central hub. Two reach up to the corners of the top and two splay out to the floor, so the table looks different from every angle. A long rectangular stretcher with softened edges links the two hubs. Each hub is a laminated block with a domed cap, and the layered end grain is a nice detail up close.

the rectangular top has a crossbanded border with butt-jointed ends, gently rounded corners and a bevelled edge underneath. The straight-grained central field sits between the paler border strips. The upper limbs are screwed to diagonal corner brackets under the frame, and the feet have metal glides. It's a compact rectangle that seats four comfortably and goes with a wide range of chairs.

the underside of the frame carries an ink stamp with the eg monogram inside a border naming e. Gomme and high wycombe, with a separate "g-plan" stamp alongside. This piece has an attribution mark,
