Designer: Alfred Müller
Socket: 2 x E27
This architecturally clean and visually captivating desk lamp in the spirit of Bauhaus dates from the 1940s in Switzerland and bears the design signature of prominent designer Alfred Müller. The primary artistic concept of this solitary lighting fixture stems from modernist principles of utility, the reduction of redundant shapes, and the harmonious integration of industrial materials with perfect ergonomics. The architectural design of the entire structure is built upon a stable circular base from which a vertical fluted stem rises, connected to a smoothly bent chromed arm that supports a wide, elegantly domed shade finished in high-gloss black lacquer. This well-thought-out shape gives the lamp timeless visual dynamics, a sharp contrast between the black lacquer and polished metal, and a characteristic avant-garde expression.
The item has undergone a complete, highly professional restoration combined with thorough professional cleaning, high-gloss polishing, and the execution of an entirely new, safe professional electrification. Experienced restorers have thus successfully restored one hundred percent functionality and maximum aesthetic appeal while preserving absolute historical authenticity, subtle patina, and the high collector's value of this unique piece.
Thanks to its renowned modernist origin, top-tier craftsmanship, and utterly timeless design, this desk lamp serves as a highly prestigious and fully functional element in a modern interior. It stands out perfectly on a representative office desk, in a luxury library, a living room, or as a breathtaking design solitaire in a space emphasizing top-tier interwar and post-war functionalist design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
