the frame is distinguished by the rhythmic alternation of richly figured veneers, with warm amber and darker brown tones that create a refined architectural effect. The careful orientation of the grain, particularly visible at the mitered corners, emphasizes the quality of the cabinetmaking and gives the mirror a distinctly italian modernist character.
the piece bears an atelier di varedo label, an important element in supporting its attribution and placing it within the cultural and productive environment associated with high-quality lombard furniture manufacture of the period.
the narrow vertical proportions make the mirror particularly suitable for an entrance hall, dressing area, bedroom, corridor or above a small console, where the combination of the figured veneer and the wide bevel of the glass becomes especially decorative.
