A wonderfully graphic vintage Couroc of Monterey tray depicting Sagittarius, the Archer, as the classical centaur drawing his bow.
The stylized figure combines contrasting wood and metal inlay against an expansive black field, giving the composition an especially strong Mid-Century Modern quality. The generous negative space makes this one particularly effective as decorative wall art as well as a serving or cocktail tray.
Carefully cleaned and hand-polished prior to presentation, including the intricate metal inlay, to restore its original luster while preserving the character of the vintage piece.
One of four different vintage Couroc zodiac trays currently available in my shop. Please see the final photograph for the other designs offered separately.
