Developed a decade after the Eames Sofa Compact, the 3473 retained its distinctive high-backed profile and exposed aluminum base while introducing a slightly larger, more generously upholstered seat and back. The design also incorporated elements of the Eames Executive Chair, resulting in a refined combination of sculptural form and exceptional comfort. Produced by Herman Miller from 1964 through 1973, the Model 3473 had a relatively brief production run and is less commonly encountered than the Eames Sofa Compact.

This vintage 3473 sofa was produced in the 1960s and has been expertly reupholstered in a handsome textured multitone gray tweed fabric. The classic armless three-seat sofa features a single upholstered seat and tall, three-section cushioned back, the gently angled seat and back resting on an exposed metal frame with distinctive sculpted cast aluminum legs.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Professionally reupholstered. Frame has general wear and minor patina with scattered scuffs, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use.
