A pair of true working duck decoys, carved in wood and hand-painted, with their anchor lines and weights still attached. These spent real seasons on the water. The metal strip on the underside is hand-scratched "Gwynn's Place, Hunting – Fishing" with dates, so they were on the water by then and are likely older.
The paint has weathered to soft whites, greys, and charcoal, with a flash of green and red still showing on each wing. One has glass eyes and a rounded head, the other a long, sloped profile. They look wonderful together on a mantel, a bookshelf, or a cabin console.
Condition as shown in photos — well-used working decoys with paint loss and crackle throughout and age cracks in the wood.
The decoy with glass eyes measures 16.5 W x 5 D x 6.5 H, while the duck without eyes measures 14 W x 4.5 D x 5.75 H. Anchor lines and weights not included in measurements.
