Scandinavian Modern pewter cocktail service produced by Havstad Pewter of Nesodden, Norway, during the mid-20th century. This coordinated eight-piece set consists of one sculptural handled decanter, six matching cordial cups, and a round serving tray.
The decanter features a flattened globular body, elongated neck, sweeping arched handle, and integrated hinged lid. Its balanced proportions and clean architectural lines reflect the restrained modernist aesthetic associated with postwar Nordic design. Each cordial cup has a tapered conical body raised on a distinctive ball-and-disc base, creating a cohesive visual relationship with the decanter.
All components are finished in Havstad’s characteristic matte pewter surface. The softly patinated silver-gray finish emphasizes the sculptural forms while retaining the material’s understated character. Suitable for use as a cordial, liqueur, or cocktail service, the set also presents beautifully as a decorative display on a bar cart, sideboard, or dining-room cabinet.
Havstad Pewter was founded in 1928 by Norwegian sculptor and metalsmith Gunnar Havstad in Nesodden, Norway. The workshop became known for its refined pewter tableware, decanters, serving pieces, and decorative objects, combining traditional metalworking techniques with the minimalist principles of Scandinavian Modern design.
The set includes one decanter, six matching cordial cups, and one serving tray, as photographed.
