More About This Item
This armoire shares its twin's strong bones: double fixed louvered doors running the full height of the cabinet in tight, even slats, built with genuine architectural intention rather than a surface-level nod to the look. A cremone bolt mechanism runs vertically down the center of the doors, the same functional latching hardware found on the matching piece — though on this particular cabinet, the decorative knob itself is missing, leaving the rod and mechanism intact but without its finishing hardware.

The cabinet sits on a removable base measuring 11 inches tall, making an already substantial piece easier to move and place. Inside, the cabinet offers 47.75 inches of width and shelves 17.75 inches deep, giving it the same flexibility as its twin — general storage, linens, or a media setup, with the louvered doors allowing airflow through even when closed. For a media conversion, the interior comfortably accommodates a TV up to roughly 43 inches. The finish carries the same intentional distressing found throughout the pair, giving it a sense of history and softened edges despite its newer manufacture.

Manufacturer's labels are present on the back and interior, confirming Ralph Lauren Home as the source. This piece was acquired, along with its matching twin, directly from a retired Great Lakes area interior designer. Priced to reflect the missing knob, it's a strong option for a buyer who wants the look at a value, plans to source a replacement pull, or simply doesn't mind the cabinet closing by the bolt mechanism alone.

Design Style
Louvered doors and cremone bolt hardware both draw on British Colonial and plantation-style architecture, where functional shutters and ventilated paneling began as practical responses to warm climates before becoming an enduring decorative motif. Ralph Lauren Home has leaned into this aesthetic across its furniture lines for decades, translating colonial and campaign-style references into pieces built for contemporary American interiors.

A cabinet like this suits coastal, British Colonial, or tailored traditional interiors, and works equally as a bedroom armoire, living room media cabinet, or general storage piece — anywhere that wants texture and architectural detail on a large-scale case good.

Brand Legacy
Ralph Lauren Home has spent decades translating the brand's heritage-driven, tailored aesthetic into furniture, drawing consistently on British Colonial, equestrian, and classic American references. Pieces like this armoire reflect a commitment to genuine construction detail — true louvered doors, a functional cremone bolt system — rather than purely decorative shortcuts, which is part of why Ralph Lauren furniture continues to hold its appeal.
