About the Artist

Dino Rosin (born 1948) is widely regarded as one of the foremost contemporary masters of Murano glass. A descendant of one of Murano's great glassmaking families, Rosin trained under legendary Venetian artisans before establishing his own studio, where he became celebrated for combining centuries-old Venetian techniques with striking modern sculpture. His works are represented in galleries and museums worldwide and are especially admired for their sophisticated use of calcedonia glass, one of Murano's most technically demanding and beautiful glass formulas.

About the Piece

Titled "Relax," this monumental Murano glass sculpture showcases Dino Rosin's mastery of both form and color. Standing an impressive 30 inches high, the abstract stylized figure features a serene, minimalist face framed by flowing contours that evoke tranquility and contemplation. Executed in richly striated calcedonia glass, the sculpture displays extraordinary swirls of blue, green, lavender, amber, and earth tones that can never be exactly duplicated, making each example unique. Mounted on a polished black glass pedestal and signed by the artist, Relax is a museum-quality work that exemplifies the highest level of contemporary Venetian glass artistry. See less
