Striking vintage Neoclassical table lamp featuring an exceptionally tall and architectural column form richly decorated with classical detailing.
The lamp rises from an elaborate sculptural base adorned with dimensional putti or cherub figures, scrolling foliage, architectural molding, and finely cast ornamentation. A contrasting cream-colored marble plinth separates the figural base from the tall column above.
The elongated column features deeply fluted detailing, acanthus leaf ornamentation, and an Ionic-inspired capital with dramatic volutes. Its warm aged gilt/brass-tone finish has developed an attractive patina that emphasizes the depth and character of the decoration.
The combination of classical architecture, sculptural putti and highly ornate metalwork gives the lamp a commanding Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical and Rococo Revival presence. Its unusually tall proportions make it particularly effective as a statement lamp on a console, commode, large side table or library table.
The lamp retains a vintage Leviton socket and corded electrical fitting. Lampshade is not included.
