The composition is built around an interplay of curved and architectural forms that overlap, interrupt, and respond to one another. Deep blue, muted green, terracotta red, soft blue-grey, and warm ivory create a restrained yet dynamic palette, while the contrast between rounded and angular shapes gives the painting its distinctive rhythm.
Dumont builds the surface through successive layers of oil paint, working with both palette knife and brush. Scraping, partial erasure, and visible traces of earlier layers create a richly textured surface and soften the precision of the geometric structure.
The title Interférence refers to the points where forms, colors, and visual rhythms cross and alter one another. Part of the artist’s Architectures Intérieures series, the painting explores the balance between structure and intuition, geometry and materiality.
