A beautifully crafted and exceptionally vibrant vintage Chinese porcelain lidded trinket or presentation box, modeled in a symbolic, organic peach silhouette.
The interior of both the lid and base features a clean, high-gloss white glaze glaze with a precision-fit unglazed raw rim. The underside is cleanly glazed and unmarked, resting on an organic, peach-shaped unglazed foot ring fitted with protective felt pads.
The exterior features an intricate, hand-painted Famille Rose enamel palette heavily populated with lush auspicious motifs. Flowering peach branches, rich foliage, and scrolling tendrils surround beautifully rendered butterflies in shades of magenta, pink, orange, turquoise, and periwinkle. In traditional Chinese culture, the peach symbolizes immortality and longevity, making this piece as rich in symbolism as it is in visual appeal. It is finished with subtle raised relief detailing that follows the natural curves of the fruit form. Perfect as a sculptural accent on a vanity, console, or within a Chinoiserie collection.
