Original 1917 etching by renowned Swedish artist Anders Zorn (1860–1920), titled Sappho (also catalogued as Sappo).
This striking work demonstrates Zorn’s celebrated command of the etching medium, with rich, deep blacks and expressive line work creating dramatic contrasts of light and shadow.
The plate mark is visible, particularly along the left side. The work bears a pencil signature by Zorn in the lower right margin; the signature has faded with age but remains visible. The print appears to retain its margins, with even, age-appropriate paper coloration.
