Japanese Blue Swallow Demitasse Cup and Saucer for your consideration. The cup measures approx. 2 inches tall and approx. 3 1/4 inches from lip to handle. The saucer measures approx. 4 1/4 inches X 4 1/2 inches and approx. 1/2 of an inch tall. Japanese Export, mid 20th Century. Hand decorated, eggshell porcelain. Kutani style, Blue and red Bluebird or Blue Swallow motifs decorating both the cup and saucer with gold gilt floral designs and outlined borders. Red stamp, "MADE IN JAPAN" on base of each. Under the saucer in handwriting reads, "WILMA 4-30-52". Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. See photos. Displays elegant!
