Bring global soul and artisan craft to your shelving or desk vignette with this captivating mid-century hand-carved wooden elephant figurine. Meticulously handcrafted by tribal artisans in Kenya, this expressive folk-art sculpture is carved from a solid block of indigenous African hardwood, showcasing beautiful organic graining, deep honey-toned variations, and highly textured tool marks.
The piece beautifully captures a tender maternal moment, depicting a mother elephant and her calf walking side-by-side with their trunks affectionately interlocked. In global folklore, the interlocked, upward-facing trunk motif is highly coveted as a timeless symbol of family, maternal protection, and good fortune.
Retaining its authentic vintage "Hand Carved Made in Kenya" paper label on the underside, this authentic piece adds the perfect layer of warm, organic texture to modern bohemian, global eclectic, or transitional interiors.
