A striking vintage 1960s wall mirror featuring an elaborate gilt eagle crest surrounded by scrolling acanthus leaves, molded ornament, and classical decorative detailing.
The impressive eagle sits atop a substantial round mirror frame, with its wings dramatically spread above a richly ornamented circular surround. Decorative scrolls, raised studs, foliage, and a carved-style floral and shield motif complete the highly sculptural composition.
The mirror is constructed from molded composite material with a warm gilt finish, giving it the appearance of carved and gilded wood while allowing for the intricate dimensional detailing throughout.
The reverse is marked “COPYRIGHT MCMLX 23-42 / MADE IN USA / SERVICE INDUSTRIES INC.” The MCMLX copyright date corresponds to 1960, providing a useful period reference for the piece.
