Vintage Coro Craft Sterling vermeil figural bird brooch, designed as a stylized bird in flight with dramatic outstretched openwork wings … Read more Vintage Coro Craft Sterling vermeil figural bird brooch, designed as a stylized bird in flight with dramatic outstretched openwork wings and fan-form tail, the body centered by a large faceted oval aqua-blue glass stone framed by clear rhinestones and accented with two round pink rhinestone cabochons, the body and wings further embellished with graduated clear rhinestones and vibrant hand-applied enamel decoration in shades of turquoise, blue, green, pink, red, and black, all set in gold-washed sterling silver; the dimensional wing construction incorporates sweeping feather-form elements with openwork loops outlined in blue enamel, while the tail is articulated with slender radiating feathers similarly accented in multicolored enamel; reverse fitted with a hinged pin stem and rollover safety clasp and applied rectangular plaque marked “Sterling Coro Craft” with Pegasus trademark; an elaborate and highly sculptural example of mid-century Coro Craft figural costume jewelry, circa 1940s–1950s.
