The design has been catalogued at danish auction as the work of marianne starck. The lamp keeps its original socket and has been newly wired for use in the u.s. With a gold-toned cord. A plug for any other country can be fitted at no charge. A new clear shade carrier in the danish style holds a new off-white pleated chintz shade, also made in denmark. The listed height includes the shade.

the neck is long and slender, tapering as it rises from a low, square base with softened, outswept corners. The glazing follows the form closely. A deep, finely mottled brown covers the neck and continues down each corner. Each face of the base holds a broad almond-shaped panel of flecked oatmeal. Where the two glazes meet, the brown feathers softly into the paler tone, an irregular edge that comes from glazing each piece by hand. The chintz has a light sheen that sets off the earthy surface of the stoneware.

the underside is impressed with the model number 6207 and the firm's shield of three herrings. The original round ma&s paper label survives, with the model number written on it in ink. This example is not initialed, though some lamps of the same model carry starck's incised ms monogram. This piece has an attribution mark,
