The conversion is non-invasive and leaves the vase itself unaltered. The lamp is wired for use in the U.S. and a plug for any other country can be fitted at no charge.

The name Delvert joins Delft with the French vert, meaning green. The Dutch painter Herman Sanders designed the series, and it was introduced in 1968 as a deliberate departure from the blue and white on which the factory's reputation rested. It proved difficult to fire. Kiln losses were high enough to make production uneconomic, and the line was discontinued around 1976. As a result, Delvert survives in far smaller numbers than classic Delft blue.

The vase is hand-painted with stylized floral and geometric ornament in soft blue-green, beneath the milky matte glaze that defines the series. The underside bears the De Porceleyne Fles factory mark and a year letter. This piece has an attribution mark,
