Dimensions: 12"D × 8.5"H
Sculptural terracotta planter with a low, rounded form and deeply textured horizontal ribbing. The irregular scraped surface gives the piece a strong architectural quality reminiscent of California studio ceramics and the textural work associated with Hans Sumpf and Stan Bitters.
Crafted from warm, unglazed terracotta with a smooth interior and drainage hole. The simple spherical profile and highly tactile surface work especially well in California modern, organic modern, Brutalist, and mid-century interiors.
Unsigned and maker unknown. No attribution is implied.
Condition: Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Minor variations and irregularities to the surface are inherent to the construction and textured finish.
