"For the Glory" captures the electric tension of a race in its last decisive moments—when brute instinct becomes more significant than strategy. Four jockeys--each of whom is identified by his own distinctive--color, lean into their mounts..
Horses surge forward in a unified blur; bodies are rendered in strong and intentional strokes, consistent with the "drive" of the painting.
George's style—dynamic, rhythmic, and unapologetic—transforms a familiar sporting scene into a study of momentum and human grit.
Bold color, thick oil--expressionist almost brutalistically drawn figures merge with representational art to deliver a mighty statement.
This painting measures 48" x 24" without frame and 54" x 30' with black, gold rimmed frame.

The frame is probably about a decade old and as such might have some scratches, scuffs and marks. But overall, in good shape and certainly nothing that catches the eye or distracts from the painting. less
