This striking antique porcelain planter features a hexagonal form with a flared rim, resting upon a matching pedestal base. The body is decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground, featuring a central panel with a large stylized peony blossom surrounded by scrolling vines and foliage. The sides are separated by vertical panels containing stylized characters and lappet borders. The pedestal base is adorned with a pierced geometric design and a key-fret border, with a central drainage hole visible on the interior. The piece exhibits a rich, aged patina with natural variations in the glaze and some discoloration, characteristic of antique ceramics. It is a distinguished example of traditional blue and white porcelain.
