This charming gilt bronze sculpture depicts a family of guardian lions, or Foo Dogs, resting together on an integral base. The central adult lion reclines with its head raised and mouth slightly open, while one playful cub climbs upon its back and another sits attentively beside its front paws. The figures are finely cast with detailed manes, expressive faces, and muscular bodies. The gilded surface shows a warm, aged patina with darker areas in the recessed details, giving it a distinguished antique character. This piece is a heartwarming representation of protection and family, making it a delightful addition to any collection of Asian metalware or desk ornaments.
