This striking antique bronze sculpture depicts the Dark Warrior, a revered mythical creature composed of a turtle entwined with a snake. The turtle stands on four clawed feet with its head raised, while a long, scaled snake coils around its shell and neck, with its heads raised dynamically. The bronze exhibits a rich, dark patina with significant remnants of original red and gold pigment, particularly along the snake's scales and the turtle's shell and limbs. This figure represents one of the four celestial guardians in traditional cosmology, symbolizing longevity, wisdom, and protection. It is a powerful and captivating addition to any collection of antique metalware or Asian artifacts.
