This impressive gilt bronze incense burner features a dynamic guardian lion in a playful yet protective pose. The lion is finely cast with a detailed, curly mane, expressive face, and a muscular body adorned with swirling cloud motifs along its spine and haunches. One paw rests upon a brocade ball, while the other playfully interacts with a small cub. The back features a removable cover with an opening, revealing a hollow interior designed to hold incense. The gilded surface shows a rich, aged patina with darker areas in the recessed details, giving it a distinguished antique character. This piece serves as both a functional incense burner and a striking decorative object.
