This impressive pair of large bronze guardian lion incense burners makes a commanding statement. Each lion is finely cast with a fierce, open-mouthed expression, flowing manes, and muscular bodies adorned with decorative harnesses and bridle fittings. One lion rests its paw upon an intricately pierced brocade ball, while the other holds a playful cub, representing traditional symbols of protection and prosperity. The removable saddle-like covers on their backs reveal hollow interiors designed to hold incense, with small openings for smoke to escape. The bronze exhibits a rich, dark patina with subtle reddish undertones, giving them a distinguished, antique appearance. These substantial figures are perfect as centerpieces or mantel decorations.
