Dated to the mid-19th century, the table is crafted of elm (yumu) to a classic, square corner design with clean lines and a black lacquer finish.

The plank top is textured by knots and grooves inherent to the wood and simple humpback stretchers brace the straight legs at either end. An apron runs beneath the tabletop on either side, inset with rectangular panels and perforated with long, ellipse cutouts. A thin beaded edge adds subtle detail to the streamlined design, tracing each oblong cutout and the undersides of the apron and legs. See less
